Custom Captain America Figure – 2.0

I did a repaint of one of the Hasbro Titan Hero 20″ Captain America figures last year. I got a good deal on a bundle of the same Captain America and the 20″ Iron Man for only $15. It was too good to pass up.

This time I wanted to do one thing I didn’t do the first time and that was repaint the face. I had been practicing and I think it paid off in this one.

The rest of the figure is pretty much the same paint job, except I added a little silver on the chest area and went with a metallic gun metal on the parts I made grey on the previous figure.

Jakks Pacific Custom Darth Vader 20″ Figure

This is finally done. My customized Darth Vader. The main things are the new helmet, new cape, addition of a full inner robe, leather belt with the belt boxes and buckle modified to fit. The suit of the figure was plasti dipped to mimic a leather appearance.  Very happy with how this came out.

Update: Vader 1/4 Scale Helmet

I finally got around to finishing (for the most part) the helmet. The mask could use a better paint job, but it’s ok for now.

I had to entirely re do the dome. Sanded it down back to plastic. Sanded down the original ridge and glue on some plastic. This looks much more defined than before. The grill mesh needs a little work but like the paint, its a place holder for now.

Now to get to work on the rest of the figure. Continue reading Update: Vader 1/4 Scale Helmet

Custom Jakks Pacific 18″ Boba Fett

Boba Fett is one of my favorite characters from Star Wars. He may not have had that many lines, or the greatest death of any character, but he had the coolest armor around.

When I saw Jakks Pacific’s 18″ Boba Fett, I liked what I saw. From the factory, the figure looks pretty good (you can check out my review of that here if you want:https://youtu.be/dvITDkrckc8). However, I knew it could be better. So it made it my goal to take this figure and make it look even better.

Here is my result.

Custom Darth Vader 1/4 Helmet – Part 2 – 3D Printing

After finalizing my 3D model in Blender, the next step was to export it as a printable file using Cura, a 3D slicing program (it converts the .obj or .stl file to GCode for the printer). It also tells you how long it will take to make the model. For the mask, it was about 6 and a half hours, and I think 7 or so for the dome. The hardest part was waiting for the print to finish.

Custom Creation – 1/4 Darth Vader Helmet – The Journey Begins…

Last year I saw a video on YouTube by Cosplay Chris. He took a Jakks Pacific Batman figure and totally re did it. It looked great when he was done and it really inspired me to go out and get that same figure and repeat his process. I did that and then I got hooked on getting these low cost but very nice Jakks Pacific Big Figs. I got a Boba Fett and re did that one. Then last year, I saw they were coming out with a new Darth Vader figure. They had previously made one in the Revenge of the Sith costume, but this new one was in the classic Empire Strikes Back look. To some people, they wouldn’t have even noticed the differences, but others do. Anyway, I was lucky enough to get the figure on Amazon during a flash sale for only $15 compared to the $30 regular price (which still isn’t bad).

Jakks Pacific New 20″ Darth Vader Figure Review

img_5523

Jakks Pacific has a bunch of quarter scale Big Figs from Star Wars. They made a Darth Vader a few years ago, based on the Episode III version (my least favorite version). I was glad to see that they were coming out with a new one based on the classic Empire Strikes Back Vader.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Iron Man Helmet Review

ironmanedit4

The Iron Man helmet and Captain America Shield are the first two offerings from Hasbro from the Marvel Legends Prop line.

I believe this helmet is based on the Mk VIII from The Avengers. It is a very detailed and accurate representation of that helmet. Although it is all plastic, there is a good weight to the helmet. The faceplate is removable and is attached via magnets on the helmet. It can be positioned in the up position as well. The magnets hold it firmly in place although don’t dry to hold it by the faceplate in the up position, it will detach. With the face up, the chin can be extended and articulated down for better chin movement. Final “Rogue One” Trailer Drops

So here it is. Probably the last bit of new Rogue One footage until the movie (unless they add some new stuff in 30 second TV spots, which is possible). What do I think? I think it looks awesome!

We get a little more fleshed out idea of what the plot is and stuff which is good. We also get a bunch of cool looking shots of different locations.

This is my favorite shot .

So cool looking!
