Custom Captain America Figure – 2.0

I did a repaint of one of the Hasbro Titan Hero 20″ Captain America figures last year. I got a good deal on a bundle of the same Captain America and the 20″ Iron Man for only $15. It was too good to pass up.

This time I wanted to do one thing I didn’t do the first time and that was repaint the face. I had been practicing and I think it paid off in this one.

The rest of the figure is pretty much the same paint job, except I added a little silver on the chest area and went with a metallic gun metal on the parts I made grey on the previous figure.

Hasbro Marvel Legends Iron Man Helmet Review

The Iron Man helmet and Captain America Shield are the first two offerings from Hasbro from the Marvel Legends Prop line.

I believe this helmet is based on the Mk VIII from The Avengers. It is a very detailed and accurate representation of that helmet. Although it is all plastic, there is a good weight to the helmet. The faceplate is removable and is attached via magnets on the helmet. It can be positioned in the up position as well. The magnets hold it firmly in place although don’t dry to hold it by the faceplate in the up position, it will detach. With the face up, the chin can be extended and articulated down for better chin movement.

Repainted Rubie’s 24″ Captain America Shield

Until recently, with the release of the officially licensed Hasbro Marvel Legends 24″ Captain America shield, finding a nice quality and affordable Captain America shield was a tricky task.

You had officially licensed stuff from the cheap end (really cheap) with the Rubies and then at the expensive end (really expensive) with eFX.

The Hasbro is a nice middle ground ($99) for officially licensed Captain America shields. Now I do want to get one, but the pristine condition the shield comes in looks too nice for me to repaint with a weathered, battle worn finish.

So that’s where the Rubies’s shield comes into play.

Captain America Titan Force 20″ Figure Video Review

The title says it all.

Custom Captain America 20″ Figure

This is a 20″ Captain America Titan Force figure, by Hasbro. It started off looking like the classic comic style Captain America and with my repaint, made it look more like the Avengers: Age of Ultron and Civil War suits that Captain America wears.

Aside from the face, everything has been repainted. The navy and brown were Rustoleum spray paints and I also brushed on some Testors enamels for the red and silver.

The figure is pretty good looking unaltered, but a new paint job, or even just some weathering and detailing really makes the figure look better. Hasbro gives you a nice base to work with.
